On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of women’s ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and in the spirit of observing Women’s History Month, students of the IUP Organ Studio, under the direction of Christine Clewell, will present organ literature written by all women composers. Works to be performed are by Jeanne Demessieux, Gladys Fisher, Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, Fanny Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Hensel, Libby Larsen, Alice Parker, Clara Wieck Schumann, and he whose oeuvre had an indelible impact on each of these women composers, Johann Sebastian Bach.
Open to the public. Admission is free.
