A University affiliation is not required to reserve space for a funeral or memorial service at Heinz Chapel. Your reservation includes use of the building for up to 3 hours and an in-person or virtual walkthrough in advance.
A Chapel organist is available to be at your service to play your processional and recessional pieces, hymns, and prelude and postlude music. The organist, whether used or not, is provided as part of the Chapel fee.
The department or individual scheduling the service is responsible for all details of the service. The Chapel staff can assist with clarifying what those details may include (e.g., clergy, speakers, flowers, printed programs). You can view our Chapel Guidelines here.
Funeral or Memorial Service Space Rental Fee: $2,000
A 10% discount is offered for services honoring those who were a student, faculty or staff member, or alumni of the University of Pittsburgh. The fee is payable by a departmental transfer or credit card at the time the reservation is confirmed and is non-refundable.
