Reservations may be made up to two years in advance by emailing the Chapel office. See below for reservation instructions. New months beyond two years are available beginning at midnight on the first of the month for that month. Emails are answered in the order received. Heinz Chapel offers a one-week courtesy hold for one date and time for couples who need time to confirm other wedding details before receiving their contract. Email the Chapel office to place a date and time on hold.
Times listed below are ceremony start times. Each wedding is given two hours on the day of the wedding. Access to the chapel is allowed 45 minutes prior to the ceremony for preparation and seating of guests. One hour and fifteen minutes is designated for the ceremony and photography. Please see our schedule below for more information on access times.

The fee for a wedding ceremony at Heinz Memorial Chapel is $2000. A 10% discount is offered if either person getting married holds a degree from the University of Pittsburgh, is a current University of Pittsburgh full-time student in good standing, a current University of Pittsburgh employee (past their provisional period) or is a current or former member of the military. Discounts cannot be combined. New Year's Eve weddings are $3500 and include extra time.
Reservation Process:
Email heinzchapel@pitt.edu with your requested date and time and the required information below please indicate if you would like a one-week courtesy hold or if you are ready to book. You may include one alternate date. Once we have confirmed your date and time, we will send your license agreement to review, sign and return within one week. Following the receipt of your license agreement, we will send an invoice that can be paid online and is due within one week.
Required Information:
The couple's full names (first name, middle initial and last name).
The couple's mailing address(es).
A cellular telephone number for each.
Email addresses for each.
Indicate if either person is a Pitt student, employee or alumni or active/retired military personnel
A note about holiday season decor: Heinz Chapel installs two 7-foot Christmas trees with white lights (one on each side of the altar) the week after Thanksgiving that will be up through New Year's Day.
Heinz Memorial Chapel is undergoing external renovations to its spire. This restoration is essential for the long-term preservation of this historic, treasured structure. Each ceremony includes a 50-minute rehearsal. See below for rehearsal times. Please note that occasionally the rehearsal start time will be different than what is seen below. You can check with the office to confirm your start time or refer to the rehearsal time listed in your Event Agreement.
Couples will have access to Heinz Chapel, Chapel grounds, and parking 45 minutes before the scheduled ceremony start time. One hour and 15 minutes is allocated for the ceremony and photography. Access times are strictly enforced.
